General Information concerning Add-On Modules
Add-On Modules are generally designed to work together with RC Logger main units, such as the RC Logger LC, RC Logger HD2 and RC Logger PRO. Most Add-On Modules also work with the RC Logger HD, which has been discontinued. All Add-On Modules are linked via the I2C bus with each other and one of the main unit. Modules may be connected based on the application requirement as illustrated in the image below. The RC Logger LC in combination with the GPS-, Environmental-, Power&RPM- as well as the Orientation&G-Force Add-On Modules are part of the autonomous flying system developed for RC EYE 650.
The GPS Module (PC:20001RC) is intended for connecting it with the RC Logger HD (obsolete), RC Logger HD2, RC Logger PRO or RC Logger LC in order to provide accurate GPS positioning information for a model helicopter, model car or model airplane. The product is powered by the RC Logger internal battery. The collected data will be stored onto the SD card of the RC Logger. GPS positioning information can be viewed and analysed by the RC Logger Viewer PC Software. The collected GPS data allow to view the flight track in 3D perspective as well as in first person view. Raw data can be exported by the PC software and further analyzed using software such as Microsoft Excel or similar applications. A status LED will indicate the signal quality during GPS data reception.
The GPS Module has a sampling rate of 5Hz. The GPS Module is integrated as part of the "Autonomous Flying" system which is in development for the RC EYE 650 quadrocopter.
The Environmental Module (PC:20003RC) is intended for connecting it with the RC Logger HD, RC Logger HD2, RC Logger PRO or RC Logger LC (not included) to provide environmental information for a model helicopter, model car or model airplane. The product is powered by the RC Logger battery. Three external cables with temperature sensor can be used at the same time. Mounted onto an ESC, motor, muffler or battery to measure the temperature of these components. Temperature and humidity sensors are installed inside the module box to measure the environmental temperature and humidity as reference point. Pressure sensor is installed inside the module box to measure the air pressure of the model during flight in order to indicate the exact flight altitude of the R/C helicopter or R/C airplane. The temperature sensor supports temperature range of up to +250 degrees Celsius (482 degrees Fahrenheit).
The Environmental Module is integrated as part of the "Autonomous Flying" system which is in development for the RC EYE 650 quadrocopter.
Power & RPM Module
The Power & RPM Module (PC:2002RC) provides data such as power usage including voltage, current consumption and motor RPM during flight, to determinate the total current drawn from the ESC/BEC (electronic speed control/ battery eliminator circuit) as well the voltage provided from the main battery. The module allows also to check individual LiPo cell voltage, whereby 6S are supported. The included buzzer will alert the user if any of the cells appear to be faulty or low capacity. The buzzer need to be connected optionally if required but is included in the shipping content.
Orientation & G-Force Module (IMU)
The Orientation & G-Force Module (IMU) (PC:20006RC) provides orientation and force information. By using Magnetometer, Gyroscope and Accelerometer with 3D orientation and algorithmic calculation to determine pitch angle, yaw angle, roll angle, direction, acceleration, and angular velocity during flight. With this information the tracking path can be simulated with the RC Logger software. In the module is built up with four technologies. The MEMS-sensor (Micro-Electro-Mechanical-System) technology plays an essential role in the Orientation & G-force module. This mechanical system allows motion sensing and control sensing to take place in miniature scale. A three axis magnetometer is used to come up with a 9 DoF Internal measurement unit (IMU). The algorithmic calculation is adopted with modified Kalman Filter to handle the high level of noise generated in the vehicles, such as vibration, magnetic field by motor, and effect of gravity with continuous change.

5.8 GHz Video Transmitter and Receiver
The RC EYE OneCam 5.8 GHz RX is excellent for experiencing fun FPV applications (First Person View) and record videos wirelessly. The monitor integrates a speaker and a 5.8 GHz receiver. It’s also a digital video recorder which supports motion detection and loop recording onto MicroSD memory card. The AV IN/OUT port allows connection with additional devices. The OneCam 5.8 GHz RX need to be used in combination with the RC EYE OneCam 5.8 GHz TX camera.
